little PJ walks!

It's been almost a month and a half since the last post. Little PJ was only taking her first steps then. Now, little PJ goes wherever her legs can bring her to! You can see how she progressed in the following videos.

This video was taken on 18 July. She was still unsteady and falling after a few steps.

This following video was taken on National Day itself and you can see that she was rather steady already. Happily playing with her the little flag too.

Finally, this is a video of her dancing and and twisting her bum bum to the 建国一代 song. I had to take from the back because she is very conscious of the camera now. I really like the part where she almost lost her balance when she saw me while turning around (~00:13). Can't help but to laugh every time I watch this video. Haha!

just a few updates of little PJ (cuteness guaranteed!)

Playing peek-a-boo by herself

Playing with her own mouth

Lastly, being a proficient climber. Not sure whether to frown or to smile. Please pardon her though, for not wearing pants in the second video. Hehe!

i can't stop ogling at this little girl

Took a candid shot of the little girl on Saturday while we were at the Hearts for Animals event at Lot 1. And I have been mesmerized by it since then.

I could tell that she was so happy and cheery when she was there playing. I am so totally captivated by her smile. In the words of the Hubs, I can't stop ogling at my little dottie.
Many friends have commented that she is a smiley/happy/cheery girl. And yes, I do agree. (But having said that, it doesn't mean she doesn't cry! She smiles hard and cries hard too!)
I pray that she will always remain cheerful and joyful, and bring about joy to others. Hope she brings a smile to your heart whenever you see her too! :)

cry, cry, cry!

We just ended a 2.5-hour ordeal with the little one. She had been crying since 9pm. Refusing to sleep, refusing to be in her room, refusing to be put down even. We are not sure why.
Maybe she had too much nap today (Popo made her nap 3 times!).
Maybe she is still adjusting back to SG weather and environment.
Maybe she had gotten used to co-sleeping in Perth.
Maybe she had too much fun with her cousins earlier on.
Maybe she is recovering from her fever.
Or maybe, today is just one of those lousy days.

Whatever it is, I am just very glad that she is asleep now, even though she went to sleep sobbing. Let's pray that she remains asleep till day break and not wake up wailing in the middle of the night, which she usually does.

I am thankful for the Hubs who carried and pacified her for the past 2.5 hours. He is always so patient with her. If she was with me, she would have gotten some spanking for sure.

Didn't expect this post-trip adjustment to be like this. Let's pray that little PJ gets back to normal soon!

happy wedding anniversary!

The Hubs and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary on Monday. This year, the Hubs decided to splurge a little more to make up for last year since I was doing confinement. And so we left little PJ at my in-laws' place and off we went to Equinox!

The Hubs reserved a window seat so that we could view the beautiful city while having our meal!

We ordered a beef appetiser, barramundi linguini for him, and salmon steak for me. And of course, with a glass of wine for him and cocktail for me to celebrate this wonderful day.

To our pleasant surprise, Equinox prepared a complimentary cake for us!

Apparently the Hubs mentioned that it is our wedding anniversary when he reserved the seats. What thoughtfulness of Equinox!

We didn't buy each other any present, but simply spent the whole day together, and having this wonderful (and expensive!) meal with the beautiful skyline.

To my dearest Hubby,
Thank you for loving me and accepting me, even when I am unreasonable at times.
Thank you for working hard to bring home the bacon, and still make the effort to wash the milk bottles and help out with the laundry sometimes.
Thank you for doing the night duty every night so that I can sleep without worries.
Thank you for being a good papa to little PJ, taking care of her, teaching her and playing with her.
Above all, thank you for being a man of God and for leading this household.
I thank God for you and I LOVE YOU!

blessed birthday to little PJ!

My little baby is not quite a baby anymore. She has turned ONE! We celebrated with both sides of the family on 1 June. Had a simple dinner at nex and bought a cake for her.

I guess she doesn't have the concept of "birthday" yet, but she was very happy because everyone in the family was around. Papa, mama, ye ye, nai nai, gong gong, po po, jiu jiu, jiu mu, gu gu, shu shu, jie jie and gor gor.

Watch the candle-blowing moment here!

On her actual birthday, the Hubby and I brought her for a photoshoot. It really wasn't easy trying to capture her. She was either crawling out of the photography area, or trying to wriggle out of our arms, or simply refusing to smile and refusing to face the camera. After an hour, the adults were all tired. The photographer included! But she was still crawling around and full of energy. Of course right, such a big "playground" for her to play in.

Her birthday present? A stacking toy from Ikea.

We were not going to buy her any presents, but since we saw this at Ikea, why not..?
I really thank God that little PJ takes joy in simple and inexpensive toys, like this stacking toy which costs only $2.90, the bear, also from Ikea, which costs only $3.90. That is the way to go.

When we got home, she spent a good 20-30min in the play yard with this new toy.

Finally a photo to end off! Took this photo at the photoshoot yesterday and I think little PJ is uber cute.

No longer a baby!

to the bird park!

Little PJ went to the bird park for the first time on 13 May! FOC, thanks to the Hub's corporate pass. We arrived at the bird park at 10+am, took a good look at the penguins and watched the feeding, before proceeding to the High Flyers Show at 11am. Little PJ watched intently at the birds which flew past her head and she was captivated for around, I would say, 20min of the show. Quite a feat for a 11 month old kid. Though the weather was warm and we perspired much, we could tell that little PJ enjoyed herself.

penguins..?
Waiting for the show to start!
Watching intently

Shot with Papa!

After the show was her lunch, and then we left the bird park.
"So fast? You haven't even seen much!"
Yeah I know. But it was time for little PJ's nap and we know for sure that she would not sleep with all the distraction and hot weather at the park. So we left to take refuge in an air-conditioned mall.
So it seems like it would take us a few more trips before we can comb the whole bird park! Till the next trip then!

little PJ's playmate for a weekend

Had a church retreat in May and it was little PJ's 2nd retreat. The 1st time she was at the retreat, she was only 3 months old. The logistics we needed to bring were her milk (she was on full breastmilk and bottle fed then), lots of diapers (she pooped more often too), clothes and bottles and breast pump. This time round, there was just as many logistics, but really a different nature. Had to bring her food items, which included milk powder, cereal, biscuits and rice. We even borrowed the portable electric cooker from my MIL to cook porridge for her. Also needed to bring a playmat and toys to entertain her.
There were many other kids around at the retreat, but they were either much older than her (3 years old and above) or kids whom we we didn't know the parents. But there Isaac was, 3 months younger than her, and they could play together peacefully.

Little PJ doesn't have many friends of her age, so I am really glad that she could have Isaac as her playmate. I guess she had fun, and so did Isaac.
