Staycation experience at KKH

Little PJ was a little warm on 26 March and so we put the fever patch for her, like how we did in the past. Brought her to the GP that night and she was given paracetamol. When the fever did not subside by the next day and her appetite was no good, we brought her to KKH. (partially also because my mum's nags).
The doctor at KKH diagnosed that little PJ has viral infection & a few ulcers on her throat so that explains the warm temperature and loss of appetite. She was then warded. By the time we got her resting on the bed, it was already way past midnight.

The whole experience was rather traumatic for her, I think. She had to pinned down on the bed to have her throat checked because she didn't cooperate. The doctor had to pry open her mouth to check her throat. She didn't like to have her blood pressure taken because of the squeeze on her ankle. She didn't like to take the oral gel for the ulcers and would cry big time. Whenever she saw a doctor or nurse walk to her, she would start crying and hang on to us tightly. Finally, when we couldn't catch a clean urine sample for testing, she had to be brought into the treatment room. I was back at home resting when she had to be brought into the treatment room and the Hubby wasn't allowed into the room either. So I am not sure what the doctors did. But according to the Hubby, she was wailing. And yeah, I could totally imagine and visualise that.

On Friday night, one of the doctors mentioned about putting her on drip if her appetite continues to be no good. I declined, because in my opinion, her appetite wasn't as bad as the doctors made it to be. She was still eating and drinking, albeit lesser than usual. Moreover she was already asleep (after much fussing and it was already 10+pm) and I didn't want to disrupt her sleep. I am glad that I declined, because little PJ was given the clearance to discharge the next morning.
Changed and all ready to go off!

Thank God that while it was traumatic in the hospital, she didn't take long to regain her activeness and cheerfulness. And thank God for all the prayers and concern for her!
